This workshop hosted by NOVAC and taught by visiting filmmaker Camille Brown, covers the breaking down of a script for low budget/non-union crew projects. Participants may bring in a script, 15 pages or less and together we will break it down and create a schedule and budget. For those who don’t have a script, Camille will have some to share.
    ABOUT CAMILLE BROWN:
An award-winning filmmaker, Camille earned her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA’s prestigious Film, Television and Theater School. She made her directorial debut with her documentary “A Second Chance at Life” narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. The documentary went on to screen at several film festivals and won best documentary.
Camille then went on to write and direct the award-winning short film “Thank you for Washing,” which has screened in over 20 festivals winning best short for 10 of them. Most notable is the NBC Short Cuts Festival, from which she also received a blind script deal with the studio. She co-produced the feature film, “A Perfect Getaway” starring Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich, and last year she was a semi-finalist for the HBO Directing Fellowship. Her feature directorial debut “The Nth Ward” was just released on Amazon.
On Sunday 1/14, Camille will be screening her film, “The Nth Ward” at Chalmette Theatre, followed by a Q&A with Victoria Greene of WIFT (Women in Film and Television).
