New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC) has provided education, resources, and opportunities in film for over 52 years. In 2024, we trained film crew to work in crafts such as in costumes and makeup, and developed two award-winning films highlighting local cultural practitioners. Will you make an end of year donation and help us support a new generation of filmmakers?
Here are some of our goals for 2025:
- Launch NOVAC Fest, a community-driven fundraiser and celebration
- Train 100 community members for film industry careers
- Host at least 1 set visit for hands-on experience
- Produce 2 documentaries focused on Black Maternal Health
- Host 20 filmmaker workshops
- Screen 8 films at 2 film screenings
- Provide 2 Reel Reset events for creative rejuvenation
- Launch a wellness series to support Black Maternal Health filmmakers and partners
- Pilot an Editing Apprenticeship Program for young adults (ages 18-26)
- Teach 2 after-school courses in Photoshop and Premiere Pro
