About NOVAC and the Louisiana Film Crew Training Program (LFCTP)
The New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit media center. NOVAC’s mission is to foster the creation and appreciation of film and video in the New Orleans area for a public of diverse ages, income levels and backgrounds. NOVAC accomplishes this mission through education, career development, community outreach, independent productions, and special events. The intensive LFCTP currently includes two training tracks, one for a Grip/Electrician and the other for a Production Assistant Generalist. The free training modules last between 4-8 weeks and include the A.C.T. Work Keys assessment testing and Work-Ready certification. The Recovery Workforce Training Program provides all funding for the LFCTP.
About the Recovery Workforce Training Program (RWTP)
The Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA) in collaboration with the State Office of Community Development’s Disaster Recovery Unit (OCD) and the Louisiana Workforce Commission (WFC) has established the Recovery Workforce Training Program (RWTP). OCD is the administering body of these programs and will work in conjunction with the LRA and WFC in Policy and Administration for this program. The Louisiana Workforce Commission is the direct administering agent for the RWTP.
