Course Description:
This two-day, hands-on course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. In this course, you’ll learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, Ripple, Roll, Slip and Slid tools, finishing and final output.
This course is based on the FCP 101: An Introduction to Final Cut Pro course . However, this course does not cover all lessons and exercises in the book. Students may complete the exercises that are not covered in class on their own. This class is designed for anyone looking to edit professional-quality video with Final Cut Pro and who prefers hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore its functionality.

Who should attend?
This class is designed for anyone looking to edit professional quality video using Final Cut Pro. The course is designed for those who prefer hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore the functionality of Final Cut Pro.
What you will learn:
• Marking clips, using insert, overwrite and drag-and-drop editing
• Trimming edit points
• Using Ripple, Roll, and Extend edits as well as the Slip and Slide tools
• Applying filters and changing Motion properties
• Audio editing and audio creation
• Finishing and final output.
Prerequisites
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
• Basic knowledge of the Mac OS X and basic computer navigation
• Basic knowledge of editing terminology is recommended
Certification:
This course covers the requirements to become an Apple Certified Pro, Final Cut Pro 7 Level One enduser. Level One certification attests to basic operational knowledge of the application; however, to become certified you must take and pass the Apple Certification Exam. Certification exams are offered for an additional fee of $100 when taken in conjunction with a course.
This certification also counts towards the Final Cut Studio Master Pro certification. FCS Master certification recognizes a Certified Pro’s skills with the entire Final Cut Studio product suite.
