Green Screen Pop-Up

POSTPONED – Please stay tuned for the rescheduled class time.

From the sci-fi blockbuster to that indie survival picture, whether to save production a trip to the Alps or to create the fantastic; green-screen techniques are becoming more prevalent in today’s film production experience.  This December as part of our Pop-Up Class Series, NOVAC will offer a one-day intensive look into just what is required to take advantage of this technology and how to avoid the pitfalls and mistakes that many green-screen newbies sometimes fall into. This class will include both lecture and demonstrations.

Taught by a seasoned visual effects and compositing supervisor and LSU Shreveport Visual Effects Instructor, Jonathan Miralles (Harry Potter, Order of the Phoenix)  and hosted by 9th Ward Studios, NOVAC’s Green Screen Pop-Up will take you from production to post, covering topics like:

  • Green Screen Theory
  • Choosing the right keying process for your film
  • Cameras, various screen approaches and rigging
  • Lighting for green screen and matching your subjects to their background
  • The difference between green and blue screens
  • Compositing your footage in post and fixing problem shots
  • Alternative Software approaches like NUKE, Fusion and Plugins
  • And More…
So don’t wait till pigs fly or hell freezes over. Create it yourself, or learn how at NOVAC’s Green Screen Pop-Up.
