A partnership with Second Line Stages, this multi-faceted course introduces new and seasoned industry professionals to the newest eco-friendly practices in all areas of production. On Thursday, October 28, a panel of experts will discuss easy-to-adopt green production methods in an open to the public form. This event will provide an opportunity for the members of the local industry and government to hear from leading professionals, both at the studio and production levels, about what it means to “Green the Screen”, why it’s important, what it entails, and what New Orleans/Louisiana crew, vendors and service providers should be thinking about. Speakers include Jane Evans – Focus Features, Meredith Bergmen and Katie Carpenter – Green Media Solutions, Mary Jo Winkler – Producer, Kathleen Courtney – UPM. The seminar will be held at Second Line Stages, 800 Richard Street in New Orleans, October 28th from 6:30-8:30. Reservations are required for the seminar; call 504-224-2245 or email boseka@secondlinestages.com to RSVP.
In conjunction with the panel, NOVAC is offering production assistant workshop where students will study set protocol, etiquette and terminology. For someone new to the industry, this course will provide the preparation needed for the demands of production as both an on-set and office production assistant.
The training workshop is currently closed, but we hope you can make it to the panel discussion.
