Music Video Production Project 2017
We are pleased to announce year three of the Music Video Production Project, a learning workshop and creative collaboration designed to produce high-quality music video content for local bands, teaching basic filmmaking skills in the process.
In both New Orleans & Baton Rouge, aspiring filmmakers with any amount of experience can sign up to participate in the workshop, which will take place over multiple dates March– April, coordinated with participants. For a low price of $175 (or $125 for existing NOVAC members), students will learn the basics of music video production, including design, storyboarding, production, post-production, effects and more, through the hands-on process of creating a music video for a local band, under the guidance of an experienced local filmmaker. The project’s first meeting will be March 4th in New Orleans and March 5th in Baton Rouge.
NOVAC’s featured bands this year are New Orleans’ NESBY PHIPS and LOS POBOYCITOS and Baton Rouge’s LARRY GARNER and LOUDNESS WAR.
The music videos will be produced over two months, March – April 2017, and will premiere in New Orleans on May 1st at Sync Up Cinema 2017, the free film & music industry conference and showcase during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (www.syncupconference.com), as well as at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival 2017.
