REEL reSET is primarily sponsored by Film New Orleans, Office of Cultural Economy.
REEL reSET connects working professionals in the film and television industry with their peers, while serving as a respite from the demanding space of film and television work. Filmmakers will be able to market their programs, crowdsource resources and connect with others for local opportunities.
Our film professionals will have a chance to recharge and reset as we curate an environment which provides a chance to meet and mingle with like-minded professionals in a relaxed setting. This seasonal event is also a great opportunity for incoming or transitional film professionals to foster relationships that lead to great collaborative work, or just find a support system from their peers.

A part of film festin’ is the parties. This year, in partnership with NOFF, and funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and Film New Orleans, Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy, we celebrated indie filmmakers at The Broadside where party goers enjoyed free food, drinks and a screening of 48 Hour Film Projects films that were made during NOFF.

The filmmaking community showed up and showed out at NOVAC for another unforgettable REEL reSET. The VAC was buzzing with creative energy as we celebrated the launch of the virtual festival and the moment all BFFNO films became available online.
With this year’s theme, “Poetry in Motion,” the night blended film and performance seamlessly. Spoken word artists brought powerful live pieces, video art played throughout the space, and the DJ kept the vibe flowing with steady beats. Guests mingled over snacks and drinks, reconnecting with old collaborators and meeting new ones.
It was a night of fellowship, artistry, and pure community spirit—exactly what REEL reSET is all about. Stay tuned for our upcoming 2026 REEL reSETs. They’re an affair fit for a filmmaker.

A wind down from Mardi Gras with a special edition of REEL Reset was celebrated with our friends at the Black Film Festival of New Orleans.
DJ Captain Charles set the vibe spinning his Sunday grooves as everyone enjoyed Grandma Smith’s seafood gumbo and a drink on us along with free independent films from our New Orleans community of filmmakers.

Sunday Scaries need not apply! Wind down from Overlook ‘24 with a bewitching edition of REEL reSET, an after-hours haunt, hosted in partnership with our Overlook film family. Come in for a spell and enjoy haunting beats by DJ 2Ready, immersive installations, and a chance to reach out to the other side at this chill house party in the heart of the New Orleans community.

REEL reSET: ESSENCE Film Festival Edition was uniquely curated in partnership with the Essence Film Festival and Film New Orleans, Office of Cultural Economy to offer space for Louisiana filmmakers to connect with other filmmakers from across the nation.
This event was free and open to the public. Flippin Birds provided food that kept you nourished. We brought the free libations that kept you moving, and DJ2 Ready had the beats that kept you grooving.
Reel ReSET kicks off the ESSENCE Film Festival as the host mixer for the visiting EFF filmmakers. We’re providing a meeting place for creatives, festival goers and our community as they continue to enjoy the ESSENCE Film Festival screenings and events between July 5-8 at the Convention Center as a part of the ESSENCE Festival of Culture.

We capped off the summer of ’23 off some fun taking us into fall with some good vibes. Our REEL Reset Mixer is a collaborative effort with Film New Orleans to make sure that our film community feels appreciated.
We had free food and spirits as well as some fun activities and offerings including a guided meditation from Sage Hands body therapist Jasmine Johnson for this house party.
