NOVAC is pleased to partner again with Film New Orleans for a new program, Film Works NOLA, a slate of trainings for Orleans Parish residents who are interested in developing careers in the film and television production industries.  Film Works NOLA will present a variety of industry-led workshops in various behind the scenes trades throughout the fall, presented for free (by www.viagra.com application) through support from Film New Orleans.
 
First up this Fall, we are offering a production assistant training intensive, a weekend-long introduction to the basics of life on set, including set levitra plus etiquette, vocabulary, walkie usage, call sheets and more. This training will be held at Starlight Studios in New Orleans East.  Participation is free, but seats are limited and participants will be chosen based on applications.  Applications are open now, and close on September 20. We are pleased to be partnering with City Councilmember Cindy Nguyen to highlight District E as a location for filming.

Youth Summer Videomaking Camps in East Baton Rouge and Jefferson Parishes

NOVAC and the New Orleans, East Baton Rouge, and Jefferson Parish Libraries are hosting FREE teen video camps at local libraries this summer. Students will learn the basics of video production, including design, storyboarding, production, post-production, effects and more, through the hands-on levitra professional cheapest process of creating a video, under the guidance of an experienced local filmmaker.

Costume Department Training for New Orleans Residents

[crew training] NOLA Film Works and NOVAC to host workforce training for New Orleans residents, through the support of Film New Orleans.

 

Film New Orleans and NOVAC are pleased to announce a new film industry training program: NOLA FILM WORKS: COSTUME DEPARTMENT TRAINING, a 3-day wardrobe and costuming training session scheduled for three Saturdays in June 2019: the 1st, 8th and 15th.

COSTUME DEPARTMENT TRAINING is an intensive workshop designed to prepare Orleans Parish residents for entry-level jobs in the film industry wardrobe/costume departments. This training will not address costuming on independent film productions. Availability is limited!  There is no cost to apply or attend, purchase propecia without a prescription thanks to support from Film New Orleans.

COSTUME DEPARTMENT TRAINING teaches participants the basic inner workings of a film or television wardrobe department, with lessons and activities based on the different positions and responsibilities within the department, including shopper, seamstress/tailor, ager/dyer, designing, and more. Veteran wardrobe department head Alison L. Parker will lead the course, along with  many established guest speakers. 

 

You must be a resident of Orleans Parish to apply.

Application deadline is Wednesday, May 15th by 5pm.

Entertainment copyright experts Bri Whetstone and Max Hass present an info-packed seminar on copyright in filmmaking!
 
They’ve crafted a curriculum curated to filmmakers that covers the essentials of film copyright and contract law in film. This seminar will give insight into navigating these processes, and provide the space to ask your questions directly of two legal experts.

 

Bri Whetstone worked in Business Affairs at LucasArts in San Francisco where she handled copyright applications, drafted contracts, managed international trademarks, and drafted the Lucas Companies’ social media policy. Bri returned to New Orleans to attend Tulane Law school and focused on entertainment and intellectual property law. Since graduating magna cum laude from law school, Bri has continued to develop an entertainment and intellectual property law practice that had helped numerous musicians, artists, writers, chefs, and filmmakers.

Max Hass is an entertainment attorney and the founder of Action Potential Entertainment, LLC. He has worked with dozens of musicians in the New Orleans music community, as well as entrepreneurs, record labels, publishing companies, film productions, and visual artists. Max has developed and presented copyright workshops for musicians and visual artists and spoken on intellectual property and contract matters at NOVAC, Propeller, the Where Y’Art Gallery, and at conferences in Baton Rouge and Morgan City. He is currently a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
