Costume Department Training for New Orleans Residents
[crew training] NOLA Film Works and NOVAC to host workforce training for New Orleans residents, through the support of Film New Orleans.
Film New Orleans and NOVAC are pleased to announce a new film industry training program: NOLA FILM WORKS: COSTUME DEPARTMENT TRAINING, a 3-day wardrobe and costuming training session scheduled for three Saturdays in June 2019: the 1st, 8th and 15th.
COSTUME DEPARTMENT TRAINING is an intensive workshop designed to prepare Orleans Parish residents for entry-level jobs in the film industry wardrobe/costume departments. This training will not address costuming on independent film productions. Availability is limited! There is no cost to apply or attend, thanks to support from Film New Orleans.
COSTUME DEPARTMENT TRAINING teaches participants the basic inner workings of a film or television wardrobe department, with lessons and activities based on the different positions and responsibilities within the department, including shopper, seamstress/tailor, ager/dyer, designing, and more. Veteran wardrobe department head Alison L. Parker will lead the course, along with many established guest speakers.
You must be a resident of Orleans Parish to apply.
Application deadline is Wednesday, May 15th by 5pm.
